In a day of dramatic swings and strategic brilliance, Match Day 2 of the National Bridge League 2025’s second half unfolded on October 11 at the Islamic University in Uganda’s Females’ Campus Sports Complex in Kabojja. Organized by the Uganda Bridge Federation and officiated by Egulwa Reagan as the technical director together with Anold Kizito and Musasizi John, the event saw 13 teams battle through 36 boards across three round-robin rounds, resulting in 18 gripping matches that reshuffled the standings and set the stage for a nail-biting Match Day 3 on October 25 at Cavendish University.
Defending champions Muk Bridge Club 1, captained by Asiimwe Kizza, endured a rollercoaster: a crushing 25-1 VP morning loss to Kampala Bridge Club 1marked by faltered defenses and missed slams followed by a 21-9 mid-morning defeat to Kampala Bridge Club 2. They salvaged pride with a 25-4 afternoon thrashing of Muk Bridge Club 3, but the damage dropped them to fourth (85 VPs). “It was a wake-up call,” said Asiimwe Kizza the Muk Bridge Club Captain in a post-match talk. “We’ll rebound stronger. Ndejje Mavericks 1 seized the summit with flawless morning (25 VPs over IUIU Aces 1) and mid-morning (25 VPs over Muk Bridge Club 3) wins, before a gritty 17-13 afternoon slip to Victoria Bridge Club, who surged to third (89 VPs). Kampala Bridge Club 1’s upset heroics propelled them to second (107 VPs), just four VPs behind Ndejje’s 111.Cavendish Bridge Club climbed from 13th to 11th (39 VPs), a beacon for newcomers, while IUIU’s Aces squads anchored the bottom, reflecting the league’s developmental edge.

As Match Day 3 looms at Cavendish University eyes turn to Ndejje Mavericks 1’s triple-threat (vs. KU Bridge Club, Muk Bridge Club 2, IUIU Aces 2) and Kampala Bridge Club 1’s afternoon double (vs. Kampala Bridge Club 2 and Muk Bridge Club 3 after a bye).
